Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
The AE Solar METEOR CMER-108BDS series redefines performance standards thanks to the use of innovative N-type TOPCon cell technology, which ensures significantly higher energy conversion efficiency compared to traditional solutions. A key differentiator of these modules is the bifacial Double Glass construction, which not only increases total energy yield through light absorption from both sides but also drastically improves the panel's resistance to micro-cracks and extreme weather conditions. The application of SMBB (Super Multi Busbar) technology allows for more efficient current flow and better performance in low-light conditions, which is crucial in the Polish climate. These panels solve the problem of long-term performance loss, offering exceptionally low power degradation over time, translating into a higher return on investment for homeowners and businesses. They are an ideal choice for prosumer and commercial installations where durability and maximizing energy production from limited roof or ground areas are the priority. By choosing the METEOR series, investors receive a product with an elevated fire safety standard, which results directly from the reinforced double glass structure, outclassing standard monofacial modules in terms of lifespan.

AE Solar is the only European manufacturer to achieve Tier 1 status from BNEF and receive a "High Bankability" rating in 2024 - bankability has increased from 26% in 2023 to 50% in 2024 (source: PVTIME/BNEF). Its 16th consecutive appearance on the Bloomberg Tier 1 list (Q1 2025) and its headquarters in Germany translate into greater guarantee stability and service availability compared to Asian manufacturers.
The CMER-108BDS series outperforms the Trina Solar Vertex Backsheet (21.2%) by 0.87-1.76 percentage points at the same power range of 490-510 Wp. This result is comparable to that of the JA Solar JAM60S40 LR (23.0%), confirming the module's position among the leading products in the 108-cell segment.
The manufacturer guarantees a power retention rate of >87% after 30 years of operation. The industry standard for Tier-1 (JA Solar, Trina Solar) is 25 years, meaning that the CMER-108BDS offers an additional 5 years of warranty coverage - a direct improvement in the NPV (Net Present Value) of the installation, which is particularly important for commercial and prosumer installations.
The temperature coefficient specified in the datasheet (-0.29%/°C) is significantly better than the typical -0.35%/°C for PERC technology. When the module is heated to 65°C (typical summer in Poland), the difference in yield is approximately 1.7% higher compared to PERC. The absence of LID (Light-Induced Degradation) eliminates the typical power loss observed in the first few weeks of operation.
The METEOR modules received a "Very Good" rating (5 stars) in the independent PV Magazine Module Test, as well as a "Top Performer" status in the Kiwa PVEL 2025 certification (according to 8MSolar Expert Review 2026), which confirms that the actual parameters meet the specifications provided in the product data sheets.
The double-glass bifacial design weighs 23.5 kg compared to 20.3 kg for the monofacial version of the same series - a difference of 16%. When installing on older residential building roofs (e.g., wooden structures built before 1990), a roof load assessment may be required before selecting the number of modules.
- Efficiency of 22.1% matches the TOPCon 450-500W median
- 220.7 W/m² power density is 4.5 W/m² below TOPCon 450-500W median (225.2 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- At -0.29%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for TOPCon 450-500W panels
- At 27.5 kg (3.5 kg above TOPCon 450-500W median of 24.0 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- Bifaciality factor of 80% can add 4-12% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
