The GoodWe MT series are three-phase grid-tie inverters designed for commercial and industrial installations - from warehouse rooftops to larger ground-mounted systems, where project flexibility and stable performance under demanding conditions are key. The key advantage is multiple MPPTs, which facilitate optimising energy yield from different string orientations, uneven solar irradiance, and partial shading, minimising the losses from mismatch losses.

High European efficiency means the inverter maintains excellent performance not only at the laboratory maximum but, above all, under typical operating conditions in Poland - which in turn translates to annual energy production. In terms of safety and reliability, the series offers practical installation solutions, including string-level monitoring and built-in protective functions supporting operation.

Daily management is supported by remote monitoring in the SEMS ecosystem and commissioning via the installer app, with communication possible via WiFi, RS485, or wired solutions depending on the configuration. This is an excellent choice for companies seeking reliable performance, control over production, and clear diagnostics, backed by the typical manufacturer warranty for this class.

Pros and cons

What owners get
Four independent MPPT controllers, with a power range of 50-80 kW

The MT series features 4 independent MPPT trackers (with a range of 200-850 V each), which is a standard higher than that offered by some competitors, who typically offer 2-3 MPPT systems (e.g., SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2 75 kW - 3 MPPT). This allows for optimal matching to installations on roofs with different azimuths or with partial shading, without the need for optimization systems.

Over-sized DC 150% and Power Boost AC

The inverter supports DC input over-voltage up to 150% of the AC rated power, as well as continuous AC output over-current up to 150%, which allows for extended operation at full power and improved performance in low-light conditions. This translates to a faster return on investment compared to devices without the Power Boost function.

Low starting voltage: 200 V

The startup voltage is 200 V DC, while most competitors in this class (e.g., Sungrow SG80KTL-20, Huawei SUN2000-60KTL) start at 250-300 V. In Polish conditions (low sun angles in the morning/evening, cloudy days), this results in a longer daily energy generation time, which is particularly noticeable during short winter days.

Monitoring of strings + AFCI protection

Built-in monitoring at the string level and PLC communication enable the identification of faults without additional equipment. The certified AFCI (arc fault detection) function meets the growing requirements of insurers and the IEC 63027 standard for commercial installations, which is often crucial for obtaining property protection for large industrial facilities.

Confirmed BNEF Tier 1 status (Q2 2025)

GoodWe is listed on BloombergNEF's Tier 1 Power Inverter Manufacturer list for Q2 2025, with over 100 GW of installed capacity globally. Tier 1 status is required by most banks that finance commercial projects in Poland through leasing or investment loans - the absence of this status for a manufacturer prevents bank financing of the project.

Trade-offs
Power range limited to 50-80 kW

The MT series only includes models with capacities of 50, 60, 70, and 80 kW, which excludes its use in smaller commercial installations (25-50 kW) - in these cases, GoodWe directs customers to the SMT series (25-36 kW). An investor planning to expand a system from a smaller power level must consider switching to a different series or using multiple smaller-class inverters in parallel.

About the MT series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this model's own.

What types of systems are the GoodWe MT series suitable for, and what is the range of power output it covers?
The GoodWe MT series consists of three-phase grid-tie inverters designed for commercial and industrial applications, such as roof-mounted systems for warehouses and larger ground-mounted systems. Available models range in power from 25 kW to 80 kW, allowing users to choose an inverter that is suitable for both medium-sized business installations and large facilities requiring industrial-grade performance.
How many MPPT trackers does the GoodWe MT inverter have, and why would I need that in practice?
Models in the 25-30 kW MT series are equipped with 3 independent MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers, while the 50-80 kW versions have 4 MPPT controllers. This allows for the connection of strings of panels facing different directions or mounted on roofs with varying inclines, minimizing losses due to misalignment and partial shading without the need to use optimizers on each individual panel.
What is the efficiency of the GoodWe MT inverters, and does this actually translate into lower electricity bills?
The maximum efficiency of the MT series reaches 98.8%, and the high European efficiency indicates good performance in typical, variable solar irradiation conditions prevalent in Poland. In practice, this translates to a higher annual energy production compared to inverters with lower efficiency, which reduces the actual return on investment for businesses.
What is the warranty on the GoodWe MT inverter, and is it possible to extend it?
Standardly, the MT series is covered by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. After registering the device on the SEMS monitoring platform, the warranty can be extended to 10 years. Paid extended warranty packages are also available. GoodWe is a Tier 1 manufacturer, which means a stable service and parts support system.
Does the GoodWe MT inverter support monitoring, and how can I monitor the production of my installation in real-time?
Yes, the MT series integrates with GoodWe's SEMS (Smart Energy Management System) platform, which is accessible through a web browser and a mobile application. Communication is achieved via built-in WiFi or RS485 interface. Furthermore, the inverter offers string-level monitoring, which allows for quick detection of problems with a specific string of panels without the need for an on-site service visit.
Does the GoodWe MT inverter have AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection, and is this required in Poland?
Selected models from the MT series are equipped with an optional AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) feature, which detects dangerous electrical arcs in DC installations and automatically disconnects power. In Poland, AFCI is not yet a common legal requirement, but insurance policies for commercial properties increasingly favor it, and the presence of this feature enhances the fire safety of the installation.
