The Deye SUN-G03-LV series are three-phase grid-tie inverters for PV systems, where stable operation and precise yield monitoring are key. Their main advantage is two independent MPPTs, which simplify string design for different roof orientations or partial shading - enabling each generator segment to operate closer to its maximum potential, rather than pulling down the entire system.

High European efficiency is also a plus, delivering genuinely better performance under typical operating conditions in Europe (varying temperatures and insolation), translating to more predictable annual energy production. These inverters offer useful features for modern installations, including zero export (limiting energy sent to the grid) and grid support via VSG.

For handling and diagnostics, communication options are available, including WLAN and wired interfaces, facilitating ongoing system analysis. The housing with IP65 protection class and compliance with safety/EMC standards supports installation in demanding environments - a sensible choice for larger homes and small commercial properties.

Pros and cons

5 positive · 3 caution
What owners get
2 independent MPPT controllers for low power applications

The series offers 2 independent MPPT tracking points, available in 6-8 kW variants, while some competitors in this power range (e.g., Solis RHI-3P6K-HVES-5G) only offer 1 MPPT. This allows for the design of strings with different orientations without losing efficiency due to mismatches between strings.

European efficiency ~98.2%

The G03 series inverters achieve European-level efficiency of approximately 98.2%, which exceeds the median efficiency of 6-15 kW three-phase network inverters in the segment (~97.5-97.8%). In typical Polish conditions (variable solar irradiance, frequent partial loads), this translates to a significantly higher annual energy yield.

VSG and Zero Export as Standard

The function of a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) with THD <3% improves the stability of the grid and meets the requirements of distribution networks for generating devices. Zero export is achieved through an energy meter without the need for an external controller - this is particularly important in installations with limited export capabilities.

IP65 rating and operating temperature range: -25°C to +65°C

The IP65 protection class allows for outdoor mounting without the need for an additional enclosure. The temperature derating starts only above 45°C, and full functionality at -25°C eliminates the need to heat the enclosure in installations in harsh climatic environments.

The company is ranked in the top tier by S&P Global

Deye (Ningbo Deye Technology Co., Ltd.) was included in the inaugural Tier-1 Cleantech Companies list by S&P Global and the PVBL Top 20 Global Solar Inverter Brands 2025 list, which significantly reduces the risk of lacking service and spare parts support over a 10-15-year lifespan.

Trade-offs
Variant LV, originally designed for 127/220 V

The G03-LV series was primarily designed for three-phase 127/220 V networks (the Latin American market). When ordering for the Polish market (230/400 V), it is essential to carefully verify the voltage variant with the distributor - a mistake can lead to incompatibility with the OSD network and a lack of certification.

Lack of documentation in Polish

Installation, maintenance, and DTR (Technical Data Sheet) instructions for series G03-LV are only available in English and Chinese. This makes it difficult for installers who do not speak English to handle warranty claims and can complicate procedures with OSD (Original Equipment Supplier) that require technical documentation in Polish.

G03-LV is being replaced by newer EU standards

Since 2023, Deye has offered a dedicated G06P3-EU series with built-in RCDs, expanded interfaces (PLC, RS485), and EN 50549 certifications specifically designed to meet the requirements of European OSDs. The G03-LV series from 2021 does not have these certifications, which could limit its acceptance by some network operators in Poland.

About the SUN-G03-LV series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this model's own.

What is the warranty period for Deye SUN-G03-LV inverters?
Deye SUN-G03-LV inverters are covered by the standard manufacturer's warranty of 5 years, which can be extended to 10 years upon meeting the device registration requirements. The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects. It is advisable to confirm the terms with an authorized Deye distributor in Poland before purchasing, as specific rules may vary depending on the sales channel.
Why does the Deye SUN-G03-LV have two independent MPPT trackers, and when is this important?
Two independent MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) systems allow you to connect strings of panels with different orientations or angles, for example, a southern and eastern-facing array, without negatively impacting each other's performance. Each tracker independently searches for its own maximum power point, so partial shading of one group of panels does not reduce the output of the other. This is particularly important for roofs with multiple slopes or installations with obstructions such as chimneys or skylights.
What is the "zero export" function in the Deye SUN-G03-LV, and is it worth enabling?
The zero export function restricts or completely blocks the transfer of excess energy to the distribution grid. It is useful in situations where connection conditions prohibit export, or when the grid operator requires such a restriction. The inverter measures the current energy consumption of the property and adjusts the output power in real-time to ensure that the PV production does not exceed the local energy demand. It requires connection to a CT or RS485 energy meter.
Can the Deye SUN-G03-LV inverter be monitored via a smartphone or Wi-Fi?
Yes, the SUN-G03-LV series supports both wireless communication via WLAN and wired interfaces such as RS485. Once paired with the SolarmanPV app or platform, it's possible to remotely monitor production, current power, and alarms. The Wi-Fi module can be integrated or added as an option, so it's advisable to check the configuration of a specific unit with the vendor before purchasing.
Is the Deye SUN-G03-LV suitable for a large residential home or only for commercial properties?
The SUN-G03-LV series is available in 10, 12, and 15 kW versions, which are suitable for larger single-family homes with an annual consumption of over 6000 kWh, as well as smaller commercial buildings such as offices and warehouses. This is a three-phase grid-tie inverter, so it requires a three-phase connection. For a standard home with a single-phase connection, the SUN-G03-LV series would not be the right choice.
What benefits does the VSG technology in the Deye SUN-G03-LV inverter offer, and who is it intended for?
VSG, or Virtual Synchronous Generator, is a mode of operation in which the inverter mimics the behavior of a traditional synchronous generator, helping to stabilize the frequency and voltage in the grid. This function is particularly useful in areas with weak grid infrastructure or where the grid operator requires support for grid regulation. For a typical prosumer in Poland, VSG has limited practical significance, but it can be an advantage in projects with more demanding grid requirements.
