Key Features

Industry-Leading 94.5% Round-Trip Efficiency

DC-coupled architecture minimises conversion losses: solar DC charges the battery directly without an intermediate AC conversion step, retaining more energy than AC-coupled alternatives.

LFP Chemistry — Inherently Safe

Lithium Iron Phosphate cells have a thermally stable crystal structure, significantly reducing the risk of thermal runaway and making the battery well-suited for indoor and outdoor deployment.

Scalable Capacity

Multiple SolarEdge Home Battery units can be connected to a single Home Hub inverter, expanding total usable storage. The inverter model determines the maximum number of batteries.

Full Backup Capability

With an optional Backup Interface Module, the SolarEdge Home Battery can power critical loads or the entire home during grid outages, automatically switching within milliseconds.

DC Coupling Advantage

The SolarEdge Home Battery uses DC coupling — solar panels charge the battery through the Home Hub inverter without an extra AC-to-DC conversion step. This preserves more energy per charge cycle (94.5% vs. ~89% for typical AC-coupled systems), resulting in measurably higher annual self-consumption for the same installed capacity.

Inverter Compatibility Requirement

The SolarEdge Home Battery requires a SolarEdge Home Hub (formerly SE-HD-Wave) inverter with a Battery Interface. It cannot function with other inverter brands or with older SolarEdge inverter models that lack the battery port. Verify your inverter model before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The SolarEdge Home Battery is DC-coupled and requires the SolarEdge Home Hub (formerly SE-HD-Wave) or compatible SolarEdge inverter with a built-in backup interface. It cannot work standalone or with other inverter brands.

The SolarEdge Home Battery has a total cell capacity of 10 kWh and a usable capacity of 9.7 kWh. The remaining 0.3 kWh is reserved to protect battery longevity and avoid deep discharge.

Yes. Multiple SolarEdge Home Battery units can be stacked together. The maximum number of batteries depends on the inverter model - typically 2-3 units per Home Hub inverter.

The SolarEdge Home Battery includes a 10-year product warranty with a guaranteed minimum end-of-warranty capacity. The actual capacity retention target is specified per product generation.
