Yingli PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 modules are based on TOPCon n-type monocrystalline cells, designed for maximum yield in real-world conditions-including when installations operate in the morning, evening, or under poorer sunlight. In practice, this means more stable energy production throughout the day and better production predictability for both residential and business customers.

Bifacial construction sets this solution apart from many standard options, enabling it to utilize reflected light from the ground as well, supporting higher yields without increasing roof surface area. Additionally, advanced multi-busbar connection architecture and cell segmentation reduce electrical losses and minimize the impact of micro-cracks on module performance.

The optical solutions applied, including round-shaped ribbons and anti-reflective coatings, improve light capture, while the entire design is complemented by enhanced mechanical strength, crucial for handling snow and wind loads. This is an excellent choice for residential rooftops, commercial installations, and projects where high yield, durability, and aesthetic appeal matter.

About the PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

What makes TOPCon technology in the Yingli PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 panels different from standard PERC panels?
TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is an n-type cell technology that reduces electron recombination losses at the metal-silicon contact through an additional oxide passivation layer. This results in higher efficiency, lower annual degradation, and better low-light performance compared to older p-type PERC panels. The PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 series reaches up to 465 Wp with more stable year-round yield thanks to this technology.
Is it worth paying extra for bifacial PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 panels for a pitched roof installation?
On a typical pitched roof, the bifacial effect is limited since the rear side of the module has little access to reflected light. These panels perform better on flat roofs, carports, ground-mount systems over bright surfaces, or elevated racking with a rear air gap. On a pitched roof you'll still benefit from the high efficiency of the TOPCon cells, but the additional bifacial gain will be minimal.
What warranty comes with the Yingli PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 panels, and what does it cover?
Yingli provides a 12-year product warranty covering material and manufacturing defects, along with a 30-year power output warranty guaranteeing a minimum performance level over that period. This is a standard offering for premium n-type panels and gives investors confidence in return on investment, even for commercial installations calculated over several decades.
Is Yingli a Tier 1 manufacturer, and does that matter when choosing panels?
Yes, Yingli is a Tier 1 manufacturer headquartered in China, which means financial stability, project bankability (important for loans and leasing), and a well-documented large-scale production history. Tier 1 status also simplifies obtaining installation insurance and increases confidence that the warranty will remain enforceable throughout its full term.
How many PANDA 3.0 Mini 2 modules are needed for a 5 kW installation?
At 465 Wp per module, a roughly 5 kWp installation requires about 11 panels (5000 W / 465 W ≈ 10.75, typically rounded up to 11 units, yielding just over 5.1 kWp). The exact count depends on inverter design and available roof area, so it's best confirmed with your installer.
Do multi-busbar architecture and round ribbons actually increase energy yield from the panel?
Yes, round cross-section ribbons reflect part of the incoming light back onto the cell surface instead of absorbing it like flat ribbons, adding a few percentage points of efficiency. The multi-busbar architecture also shortens the current path within the cell, reducing resistive losses and limiting the impact of potential microcracks on overall module performance.
