This Trina Solar Vertex S+ (Bifacial Dual Glass) series is designed for roofs where both energy yield and resilience to challenging conditions are crucial. Its key feature is the combination of glass-glass construction with N-type bifacial cells, enabling the utilization of reflected light from the substrate and significantly boosting energy production in installations on light-colored roofs, membranes, or elevated structures. The applied i-TOPCon technology ensures more stable long-term performance and reduced susceptibility to common efficiency drops found in older solutions. Dual glass enhances safety and durability, while also better tolerating high-humidity environments, salt exposure, and the presence of ammonia. Modules in this series are also designed for high compatibility with popular inverters and optimizers, facilitating upgrades and expansions. This is an ideal solution for demanding residential and commercial installations where reliability, aesthetics, and predictable energy yield are key.

About the Vertex S+ (Bifacial Dual Glass) series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

How does the bifacial technology in Trina Vertex S+ panels differ from standard monofacial panels?
Vertex S+ panels use bifacial N-type TOPCon cells that also generate energy from the rear side of the module, capturing light reflected off the roof, membrane, or a bright ground surface. In practice this means an additional energy gain of a few to over a dozen percent compared to a classic monofacial panel, especially when installed on light, highly reflective surfaces or on elevated mounting structures.
What warranty comes with Trina Solar Vertex S+ panels and what does it cover?
The series comes with a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power output warranty. The product warranty covers material and workmanship defects, while the power warranty guarantees a specified minimum energy production level over the following years of operation, ensuring a predictable return on investment even after two decades of use.
Are Trina Vertex S+ 420 Wp panels compatible with popular inverters such as Huawei, SolarEdge, or Fronius?
Yes, this series is designed for high compatibility with a wide range of inverters and optimizers available on the market, including popular brands used in residential and commercial installations. Standard operating voltages and currents fall within typical MPPT ranges, making inverter selection easier for both new installations and system expansions.
What is i-TOPCon technology and why does Trina Solar use it in the Vertex S+ series?
i-TOPCon is an N-type cell technology that reduces energy losses caused by charge carrier recombination, resulting in higher module efficiency and slower power degradation over time compared to older P-type PERC cells. This allows Vertex S+ panels to maintain more stable energy production throughout their entire service life, even after many years of operation.
Will the glass-glass construction of Vertex S+ panels hold up in coastal or high-humidity installations?
Yes, dual glass combined with an aluminum frame and sealed lamination provides better resistance to moisture, salt mist, and ammonia exposure, which matters for installations near the sea or agricultural livestock facilities. This construction also lowers the risk of PID degradation and extends module lifespan in harsher environmental conditions.
How much extra power do Vertex S+ bifacial panels realistically deliver compared to a standard installation?
The rear-side energy gain depends on ground albedo, mounting height, and tilt angle. On light-colored roofs, EPDM membranes, or elevated mounting structures, you can expect a few to over a dozen percent more annual energy yield than from a monofacial panel of the same 420 Wp rating. On dark, low-mounted roofs the bifacial effect is smaller, but the panel still performs normally on the front side.
