Vertex N G3 is Trina Solar's new generation of photovoltaic modules designed to maximize the use of available roof or ground space while keeping overall system costs down. The series is built on advanced n-type i-TOPCon Ultra technology, delivering high conversion efficiency and stable module performance throughout its service life. Thanks to bifacial technology, the panels also capture light reflected from the surrounding surface, providing additional energy yield without expanding the installation footprint. The multi-cut cell design combined with edge passivation reduces current losses and improves resistance to microcracks, which matters during transport and installation in demanding conditions. A low temperature coefficient and reduced annual degradation allow the module to maintain high productivity even in hot climates and over extended operation. The Vertex N G3 series works well for both rooftop installations and large ground-mount solar farms, where lowering BoS costs and LCOE is a key priority. It is a solution aimed at investors and installers looking for high-performance panels that genuinely reduce the cost of electricity generation per kilowatt-hour over the entire system lifecycle.

About the Vertex N G3 series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

What is the maximum power output of the Trina Solar Vertex N G3 panel?
The top variant of the Vertex N G3 series delivers up to 760 Wp of maximum power at a conversion efficiency of around 24.5%. This is achieved through n-type i-TOPCon Ultra cell technology combined with multi-cut cell design and edge passivation, which reduce current losses. The high per-unit power means installers need fewer modules to reach the same system capacity, lowering BoS and mounting costs.
Is the Vertex N G3 a bifacial panel, and how much extra energy does it produce?
Yes, the Vertex N G3 is a bifacial module with a bifaciality factor of 85±5%. The rear side captures light reflected off the ground, which can add several percent of extra yield over bright surfaces such as white gravel or snow, without increasing the installed area. The best gains occur in ground-mount solar farms and elevated racking systems that allow free light access from below.
What warranty does Trina Solar offer on the Vertex N G3 series?
Trina Solar provides a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year power output warranty on the Vertex N G3 series. Thanks to a low annual degradation rate of 0.35%, the module retains high output even after decades of operation. As a Tier 1 manufacturer, Trina Solar offers added confidence that the warranty will be honored over such a long service life.
Does the Vertex N G3 perform well in hot summer conditions?
Yes, the module has a low temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, meaning it loses less power output as its operating temperature rises on hot days compared to older-generation panels. This is a key advantage for roof installations exposed to direct sunlight and for projects located in hot climates, where cell temperatures can exceed 60-70°C.
Is the Vertex N G3 better suited for rooftop or ground-mount installations?
The Vertex N G3 series was primarily designed for large-scale ground-mount solar farms and commercial or industrial projects, where its 760 Wp power output meaningfully lowers BoS and LCOE costs. The module is fully compatible with mainstream tracking systems. Given its large dimensions and weight resulting from high wattage, sloped roof installations should first be checked for structural load capacity with an installer.
How does the Vertex N G3 differ from earlier Trina Solar module generations?
The Vertex N G3 is built on the advanced n-type i-TOPCon Ultra cell platform, which compared to earlier p-type modules offers higher efficiency, lower annual degradation (0.35%), and better shading tolerance. Maximum power has been increased to 760 Wp, and an optimized voltage-to-current ratio enables longer strings and fewer modules per system for the same target capacity.
