Space saver, no clear weak spot
The JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0 photovoltaic panel series is an advanced solution based on M10 silicon wafers that sets the standard for LCOE energy cost optimization. Thanks to the use of gallium-doped cells, this technology effectively eliminates the problem of light-induced degradation (LID), which translates into long-term yield stability and higher module longevity. This series utilizes half-cut cell architecture and multi-busbar (MBB) design, which significantly reduces resistance losses and improves resistance to micro-cracks and shading. DEEP BLUE 3.0 solves the dilemma between high power and ease of installation - the 182 mm format provides the ideal balance between efficiency and logistics. These modules are dedicated to both prosumer installations and large-scale solar farms, where maximizing the use of available space is key. What sets them apart from the competition is a precise combination of high efficiency and excellent mechanical parameters, guaranteeing operational safety in harsh weather conditions. This is the choice for investors relying on proven next-generation PERC technology, ensuring a fast return on investment thanks to high energy generation even in low sunlight.

Residential, utility-scale and shaded-installations.
Top 8% of the PERC 500-550 W segment, against a median of 209.0. Ranked 9,157th in the whole database.
Top 9% of the PERC 500-550 W segment, against a median of 20.90%. Ranked 9,145th in the whole database.
JA Solar appears on the BNEF Q1 2026 bankable Tier-1 list with a stated production capacity of 100 GW/year, placing it alongside Jinko and LONGi at the top of the global ranking. This guarantees supply continuity, straightforward non-recourse project financing, and reliable service availability across the full module lifecycle.
Ga-doped cells reduce first-year light-induced degradation (LID) to ~2% versus ~3% for standard boron-doped PERC, and limit the annual degradation rate to ~0.5%/year versus ~0.7%/year thereafter. Over a 25-year lifetime this translates to measurably higher cumulative energy yield and a lower LCOE.
The 144-cell half-cut layout combined with multi-busbar (MBB) design reduces resistive losses, improves partial-shading tolerance, and limits microcrack propagation. The module is rated for snow loads up to 5,400 Pa and wind loads up to 2,400 Pa, meeting the structural requirements of Central and Northern European climate zones.
The top efficiency of 21.5% exceeds ET Solar Elite PLUS (21.4%) and Boviet VEGA (21.3%), and is essentially on par with BYD AURO (21.48%). The series thus competes at the very top of its M10 PERC peer group without charging a premium for N-type technology.
Select variants carry a 30-year linear power warranty, while ET Solar Elite PLUS and Boviet VEGA cap out at the standard 25 years. The extended warranty horizon directly lowers LCOE in utility-scale financial models and facilitates bankability for long-tenor project debt.
Launched in 2020, the series is based on P-type PERC, whereas the premium market has largely moved to N-type TOPCon (efficiency 22-23.5%, degradation ~0.4%/year, temperature coefficient -0.32%/°C) and HJT (-0.26%/°C, ~0.25-0.30%/year degradation). For new installations prioritizing maximum long-term yield - especially in hot climates - current N-type alternatives offer measurably better performance parameters.
Direct peer BYD AURO/MLBK-36 (up to 555 Wp, 21.48% efficiency) offers a bifacial dual-glass construction enabling 5-20% additional backside yield depending on ground albedo. As a monofacial module, DEEP BLUE 3.0 cannot capture this potential - a meaningful limitation for ground-mounted projects with high-reflectivity surfaces.
- At 21.2% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical PERC 500-550W modules
- 212.1 W/m² power density - 3.1 W/m² more than PERC 500-550W median (209.0 W/m²), more power per roof area
- Temperature coefficient of -0.35%/°C matches the PERC 500-550W median
- Bifaciality factor of 70% can add 4-10% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
- In the top 65% for efficiency among all PERC panels
