Warranty pick, no clear weak spot
The RS7E-P series consists of compact polycrystalline modules built with 166 mm cells and multi-busbar 9BB technology, designed for installations where a smaller module footprint matters without sacrificing conversion efficiency. The nine-busbar layout reduces internal power loss and distributes current across more pathways, meaningfully lowering the risk of generation losses from cell microcracks or a broken busbar - an issue that can noticeably hurt output in older 3BB or 5BB modules. These panels stand out for their resistance to PID degradation, keeping power output stable throughout the module's service life and helping bring down the effective levelized cost of energy (LCOE). High-transmittance, anti-reflective tempered glass delivers strong performance in low-light conditions, a benefit installers will appreciate in regions with variable cloud cover. The certified construction withstands extreme wind and snow loads as well as salt mist and ammonia exposure, making it well suited for coastal and agricultural environments. Thanks to its small footprint, the RS7E-P series fits well in installations with limited mounting area, hybrid systems, and smaller commercial projects where reliability and a predictable linear power warranty are the priority.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential and commercial.
Top 18% of the 85-285 W band, against a median of 25 yrs.
Nine busbars spread current across more current paths than classic 3BB/5BB cells, limiting power loss from cell micro-cracks and reducing the risk of significant generation drop if a single busbar is damaged.
Efficiency up to 18.77% is well above typical polycrystalline levels (usually 16-17%) and exceeds the comparable TPL Solar TPL S-72 module (16.06% at the same 205 Wp power).
The 30-year linear power warranty exceeds the standard 25 years offered by most Tier-1 manufacturers, lowering the effective levelized cost of energy (LCOE) over the module's lifetime.
Certified resistance to PID degradation, salt mist, and ammonia allows the module to be used in coastal and agricultural installations without accelerated power loss.
The small module dimensions ease mounting on limited roof area and suit hybrid systems and smaller commercial projects where standard large-format panels don't fit.
The RS7E-P series is no longer manufactured, meaning limited availability of replacement modules for extending existing installations and potential difficulties with long-term warranty service.
Despite a strong result for a poly module, max efficiency of 18.77% trails monocrystalline modules in the same power class, e.g. MY Solar M3 and JA Solar M3 (205 Wp at 20.1% efficiency) - a gap of about 1.3 percentage points.
Power of 185-205 Wp is typical of an older compact module format, requiring more panels and longer cabling runs to reach a target system power compared to newer high-wattage half-cut modules.
- At 16.9% efficiency, this panel is 4.9pp below the database median of 21.8%
- At 169.4 W/m², this panel generates 48.7 W/m² less per unit area than database median (218.1 W/m²)
- -0.39%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.09pp worse than database median (-0.30%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- Weight of 12.0 kg (14.5 kg below database median of 26.5 kg) allows easier transport and roof mounting
- #13583 for efficiency, #13659 for temperature performance out of 14129 panels
