Middle of its segment, needs the roof space
The Q-SUN Solar QNN182-HG-72 series represents a new generation of modules based on advanced N-type TOPCon cell technology, which effectively eliminates the problem of light-induced degradation and provides significantly higher efficiency compared to traditional P-type solutions. The use of a durable Double Glass construction makes the panels exceptionally resistant to extreme weather conditions, such as high humidity, ammonia exposure, or heavy mechanical loads, which directly translates into an extended lifespan of the entire installation. Thanks to the full utilization of bifacial technology, these modules effectively generate additional energy from reflected radiation reaching the rear side of the cells. It is an ideal solution for projects where the priority is maximizing yields per unit area, especially when mounted on bright surfaces or ground-mounted structures. An exceptionally low temperature coefficient guarantees stable power production even on very hot days, clearly distinguishing this series from standard components that lose power at high temperatures. These modules are mainly dedicated to large-scale solar farms and demanding commercial investments aiming to optimize the LCOE index. By choosing this solution, investors receive equipment with the highest resistance to the PID effect, optimized for stable operation over decades, ensuring the financial security of every investment.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Utility-scale and hot-climate.
Roofs where every square metre has to count, tight roof space and weight-limited structures.
Bottom 16% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 224.4.
Bottom 21% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 22.44%.
Bottom 25% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 53.8.
Thanks to N-type TOPCon cell technology, the series reaches efficiency of 21.9-22.6%, placing it on par with top competitors such as Hanersun Hitouch 5N (22.65%) and clearly above typical PERC modules.
Dual-side energy generation from the rear side of the cells enables additional output, especially when installed on light-colored ground or ground-mount structures, directly improving the LCOE for utility-scale farms.
The dual-glass design increases resistance to humidity, ammonia, and mechanical loads, resulting in a longer module lifespan in harsh operating conditions compared to standard frame-and-backsheet designs.
Power output in the 565-585 Wp range matches the upper end of the 72-cell bifacial module segment, comparable to the Risen RSM144-9-560-585BNDG and Hanersun HiTouch 5N.
The manufacturer offers a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty, a premium standard in the TOPCon segment that gives investors long-term production stability.
The QNN182-HG-72 series has been discontinued, meaning limited availability of spare parts, warranty service, and difficulty sourcing identical modules for future system expansion.
Q-SUN Solar (founded 2014, China) is not on Tier-1 bankable manufacturer lists, which may complicate project financing and insurance compared to established brands like Trina or JA Solar.
