Efficiency leader, no clear weak spot
The Longi Solar Hi-MO 4m (LR4-72HPH 445~465M) series was designed to deliver a stable yield and predictable performance for the entire string under real installation conditions. In practice, its unique feature is the combination of PERC monocrystalline cells with half-cut construction, which helps minimize internal resistance losses and better handles partial shading typical of roofs with chimneys, window openings, or attic installations. An additional advantage is the multi-busbar connections, which support current collection from the cells and improve the module’s resistance to micro-cracks during transportation and operation on the structure.
The Hi-MO 4m also utilizes gallium doping, enabling easier degradation control over time and maintaining a favorable energy production curve for years. This solution is particularly sensible for residential, commercial, and industrial installations, where high power density on the roof and compatibility with popular string inverters and optimizers are key.

Residential, commercial and shaded-installations.
Top 5% of the PERC 450-500 W segment, against a median of 20.82%. Ranked 8,323rd in the whole database.
Top 5% of the PERC 450-500 W segment, against a median of 208.5. Ranked 8,338th in the whole database.
Top 19% of the PERC 450-500 W segment, against a median of -0.350.
Longi Solar has operated since 2000 and is a global BNEF Tier 1 leader, which simplifies project financing and lowers risk perception for banks and insurers on commercial and industrial installations.
The half-cut cell layout combined with multi-busbar interconnection reduces internal resistance losses and improves module resistance to microcracks during transport and roof-mounted operation.
Gallium-doped cells limit LID (Light Induced Degradation), keeping the energy production curve more predictable in the early years of operation compared to standard boron-doped PERC.
With efficiency up to 21.4% and power up to 465 Wp on a 72-cell module, the series offers good power density per roof area, which matters where mounting surface is limited in residential and commercial installations.
The module's voltage/current parameters fall within typical operating windows of string inverters and power optimizers, simplifying BoS component selection and string design.
The Hi-MO 4m series was discontinued (produced 2021-2023) in favor of newer N-type lines (Hi-MO 6/7/9), meaning limited availability of identical modules for string top-ups and potentially longer warranty-claim handling.
Maximum efficiency of 21.4% trails comparable models such as Jinko Solar JS182MHC120 (21.48%) and Vikram Solar SOMERA (21.51%), and falls clearly behind bifacial TOPCon panels like Luxor ECO LINE (23.6%), showing this PERC series is already a generation behind.
The product warranty runs 12 years, while newer Tier-1 series (including Longi's own N-type lines) typically offer 20-25 years, which combined with discontinued production raises long-term risk for investors.
The series is monofacial (is_bifacial: false), so it cannot capture the extra rear-side yield offered by competing bifacial modules, such as Luxor's ECO LINE TOPCON GLASS-GLASS BIFACIAL at the same 465 Wp maximum power.
- 21.4% module efficiency - 0.6pp better than the PERC 450-500W median of 20.8%
- 213.9 W/m² power density - 5.4 W/m² more than PERC 450-500W median (208.5 W/m²), more power per roof area
- At -0.34%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for PERC 450-500W panels
- #8323 for efficiency, #8778 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
