The SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange series is an innovative building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system, designed for buildings where aesthetics and compatibility with the local environment are paramount. Instead of installing traditional solar panels on the roof, SOLRIF modules completely replace conventional ceramic tiles, creating a weatherproof and watertight surface that, from the street, looks identical to a traditional clay tile roof. This is made possible by the specially treated, anti-reflective glass, which eliminates the characteristic shine of glass and provides a matte terracotta appearance. The 3.2+3.2 mm glass-glass construction offers exceptional resistance to hail, snow loads, and strong winds, while the high level of fire resistance protects even wooden roof structures in historic buildings. The panels are primarily intended for conservation areas and historic city centers, where regulations prohibit the use of standard PV installations. The dual functionality of the system - serving as both a roof covering and a source of energy - translates into real savings on building materials costs. The manufacturer guarantees 30 years of durability, making SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange an investment that combines architectural elegance with long-term energy cost savings.

About the SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

Can Solitek SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange panels be installed in a heritage conservation zone or on a historic building?
Yes, the SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange series was specifically designed for such locations. The specially treated anti-reflective glass eliminates the characteristic sheen of standard solar glass, and from street level the modules are virtually indistinguishable from traditional ceramic tiles. This allows the installation to meet heritage authority requirements in areas where conventional PV panels are prohibited.
What warranty does the Solitek SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange come with?
Solitek provides a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year power output warranty - one of the longest warranty standards in the PV industry. This means that for three decades the manufacturer covers both the physical integrity of the module and the guaranteed level of energy production.
What is the peak power of the SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange and does TOPCon technology make a real difference?
Each module delivers a peak power of 300 Wp. The N-type TOPCon cell technology offers higher efficiency and better performance at elevated temperatures compared to older PERC cells. In practice, this means more kilowatt-hours per year from the same roof area - particularly relevant when usable roof space is limited on historic buildings.
Is the SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange a bifacial panel - does the rear side also generate electricity?
Yes, the panel uses bifacial TOPCon cells, so the rear glass can also capture reflected and diffuse light. In a BIPV (building-integrated) installation the rear-side gain is limited by the absence of an air gap, but the bifacial cell architecture itself contributes to higher overall efficiency and stable electrical parameters throughout the module's lifetime.
How durable is the SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange - can the panels survive hail or heavy snow loads?
The modules feature a glass-glass construction of 3.2+3.2 mm and carry Class 5 hail resistance, meaning they withstand ice balls up to 50 mm in diameter. The glass-glass design also provides strong resistance to snow loads and high winds, while the high fire safety rating makes it suitable even for timber roof structures in historic buildings.
Do SOLRIF D Terracotta Orange modules fully replace ceramic roof tiles, or are they mounted on top of an existing roof?
The SOLRIF modules fully replace traditional ceramic tiles - they are not added on top of an existing roofing layer. The system forms a watertight, weatherproof roof surface while simultaneously acting as a power source, which allows the owner to save on conventional roofing material costs. The modules are manufactured by Solitek in Lithuania using 100% renewable energy.
