The SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent series is a modern photovoltaic module with a glass-glass construction, designed for applications where both energy efficiency and architectural aesthetics are important. Thanks to the bifacial technology, the panels generate solar energy from both sides - both from the front and from reflected light from the ground - resulting in significantly higher energy yield compared to traditional monofacial modules. The frameless design made of tempered glass eliminates the risk of aluminum corrosion and gives the installation an elegant, minimalist look. The 40% light transmittance makes the series ideal for BIPV applications - as a glazed roof, carport, greenhouse, or solar pergola. The EN 14449 certification allows the modules to be used as glazing above, opening up wide design possibilities for architects and investors. The hail resistance class 4 and the ability to withstand wind and snow loads up to 10,500 Pa guarantee durability even in harsh climatic conditions. The Cradle to Cradle certification confirms the manufacturer's eco-friendly approach - from raw material selection to the possibility of recycling. The series is covered by a 30-year product warranty, making it a safe, long-term investment for demanding clients and installers.

About the SOLID Bifacial Transparent series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

Are SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent panels suitable for pergola roofing or carport canopies?
Yes, the SOLID Bifacial Transparent series is specifically engineered for BIPV applications like these. The 40% light transmittance provides natural daylighting underneath, while the frameless glass-glass construction carries the EN 14449 certification, making it legally approved for overhead glazing. A mechanical load resistance of up to 10,500 Pa ensures safety under heavy snow and wind conditions.
What is bifacial technology, and how much more energy do SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent modules produce compared to standard panels?
Bifacial technology means the module generates electricity from both sides - the front captures direct irradiance, while the rear harvests light reflected from the ground or surrounding surfaces. In the SOLID Bifacial Transparent series, the transparent rear glass also allows part of the spectrum to pass through. Depending on the albedo of the surface below, real-world energy yield gains typically range from 5 to 20% over conventional monofacial modules.
What warranty does the SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent series come with, and what does it cover?
SoliTek provides a 30-year product warranty covering material and workmanship defects, along with a 30-year linear power output warranty. This extended coverage is made possible by the glass-glass construction - eliminating the aluminum frame removes corrosion risk, and the hermetically sealed encapsulation slows TOPCon cell degradation. This places it among the longest warranty terms available on the photovoltaic market today.
How does the TOPCon cell technology in the SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent differ from older PERC technology?
TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is an n-type technology that reduces carrier recombination through a thin tunnel oxide layer. As a result, the SOLID Bifacial Transparent module reaches an efficiency of 22.33%, compared to 20-21% typical for PERC modules. TOPCon also exhibits a lower temperature coefficient and slower long-term degradation, translating into higher energy yield throughout the 30-year operational lifespan.
Can SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent modules withstand hail and heavy snow loads?
Yes. The series is rated Hail Class 4, meaning it withstands impacts from 40 mm ice balls at speeds exceeding 90 km/h. The dual-layer construction using 3.2 mm tempered glass on each side supports mechanical loads of up to 10,500 Pa from both wind and snow. These ratings make the modules suitable for installation across Central and Northern European climates.
Where are SoliTek SOLID Bifacial Transparent panels manufactured, and do they hold any environmental certifications?
The SOLID Bifacial Transparent series is manufactured by SoliTek, headquartered in Lithuania - the only European solar panel manufacturer to hold the Cradle to Cradle certification. This certification validates responsible material sourcing, reduced carbon footprint during production, and end-of-life recyclability. For investors and institutions with ESG requirements, SoliTek's European supply chain and certified sustainability credentials are a meaningful differentiator.
