The SOLID series from SoliTek is primarily distinguished by its glass-to-glass construction, which provides exceptional durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions - including moisture, extreme temperatures, ammonia, and salt spray. Unlike conventional glass and film modules, SOLID panels are virtually free of micro-cracks in the cells, which directly translates into long-term energy stability. The use of n-type TOPCon bifacial technology means that the modules produce energy from both sides - which, under optimal conditions, significantly increases annual energy yield compared to monofacial film modules. The series is available in both frameless and aluminum-framed versions, and the semi-transparent variant is ideal for agrowoltaic installations and building facades. The Cradle to Cradle Gold certification confirms that production adheres to circular economy principles - a key advantage for investors concerned about the carbon footprint of their investment. SOLID panels are targeted at both individual customers and large commercial projects that require 30-year product and performance warranty. The European origin of the modules guarantees independence from non-European supply chains and high quality control standards.

About the SOLID series series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

What does the SoliTek SOLID series warranty cover and how long does it last?
SoliTek SOLID panels come with a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year power output warranty guaranteeing at least 90% of rated power after the full warranty period. This is among the longest warranties available in the PV market. The warranty covers both material defects and excessive power degradation - and because SoliTek is a European manufacturer, warranty claims are enforced under EU consumer law, reducing the risk of disputes common with overseas suppliers.
How does bifacial TOPCon technology in the SOLID panels actually increase energy yield?
SOLID panels use n-type TOPCon bifacial cells that generate electricity from both the front and rear surfaces. Reflected light (albedo) from the ground or rooftop surface reaches the rear side and can boost annual energy yield by 15-35%, depending on surface reflectivity and tilt angle. N-type TOPCon also has a lower temperature coefficient than standard PERC cells, meaning the panels lose less power on hot days - an important factor for LCOE calculations over a 30-year lifespan.
Can SoliTek SOLID frameless panels be used on building facades or in agrivoltaic installations?
Yes - the semi-transparent, frameless variant of the SOLID series is specifically designed for BIPV facades and agrivoltaic setups. In agrivoltaic use, it allows partial light transmission to crops growing below. On facades, it serves as an energy-generating architectural element. The dual 3.2 mm tempered glass construction meets building-integrated requirements and carries a Fire Class A rating, making it suitable for facade applications under standard building codes.
What is the practical difference between SOLID's glass-glass construction and a conventional glass-backsheet module?
Standard modules use a polymer backsheet that gradually allows moisture ingress, accelerating cell degradation and microcracks. SOLID panels replace the backsheet with a second 3.2 mm tempered glass layer, virtually eliminating moisture penetration and microcrack formation. The result is higher long-term durability, verified resistance to ammonia (relevant for agricultural installations) and salt mist (coastal sites), and more stable power output over decades compared to glass-backsheet alternatives.
Are SoliTek SOLID panels manufactured in Europe, and why does that matter for my project?
Yes, SoliTek is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, and the SOLID modules are manufactured in Europe. This has several practical benefits: independence from Asian supply chains and potential tariff exposure, easier warranty enforcement under EU consumer law, and a Cradle to Cradle Gold certification confirming circular economy production standards. For investors pursuing grants or ESG reporting that favor low-carbon-footprint products, European origin is an increasingly significant selection criterion.
How much does a SoliTek SOLID 435W panel weigh, and will a standard roof structure support it?
The SOLID 435W glass-glass module weighs approximately 33 kg - significantly more than a typical glass-backsheet panel at 20-22 kg. A structural assessment of the roof is advisable before installation, especially on older buildings. The panel itself is engineered for extreme loads - up to 10,500 Pa snow load and 4,500 Pa wind load - so the limiting factor is typically the roof structure and racking system, not the module. Work with a certified installer to verify load capacity before specifying this series.
