Light for its output, weak in heat
The GKA166M120 panel series from Gamko New Energy is an advanced solution based on M6-type cells, which optimize power density in a standard module format. The use of Half-Cut technology and a 9-busbar design significantly reduces resistance losses and improves current flow, which directly translates into higher efficiency in real-world weather conditions. Thanks to this, these panels perform excellently on cloudy days or at low solar incidence angles, effectively solving the problem of yield instability in the Polish climate. The construction of the GKA166M120 module has been optimized for resistance to extreme mechanical loads, making it an ideal choice for prosumer installations and demanding PV farms where durability is of key importance. They are distinguished from the competition by their exceptional resistance to the PID effect and degradation caused by external factors, which guarantees investors long-term stability of energy production without sudden power drops. The low operating temperature of the module prevents the system from overheating on hot days, which further protects the installation from premature wear. By choosing this series, the user receives monocrystalline PERC technology that combines innovation with maximum reliability, allowing for a quick return on investment while ensuring energy security for the household or business.

Top 4% of the TOPCon 350-400 W segment, against a median of 68.9. Ranked 2,869th in the whole database.
Top 17% of the TOPCon 350-400 W segment, against a median of 181.8.
Top 17% of the TOPCon 350-400 W segment, against a median of 18.20%.
Bottom 4% of the TOPCon 350-400 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 12,425th in the whole database.
The top variant in the series (380 Wp) achieves a module efficiency of 20.85%, marginally exceeding the VDS-S120/M6H (20.8%) and clearly outperforming both Heckert Solar NeMo 3.0 120M models (20.0%). Among 120-cell half-cut PERC M6 modules, this result places the series in the upper quartile of its peer group.
Gamko provides a 30-year linear performance warranty, whereas the Heckert Solar NeMo 3.0 120M covers only 25 years. The extended warranty horizon directly lengthens the bankable cash-flow period for IRR calculations on both prosumer systems and utility-scale PV plants.
The combination of half-cut cell technology with a 9-busbar layout reduces resistive losses and minimizes the impact of partial shading on overall string output. This configuration is technically on par with solutions employed by larger PERC brands in the same power class.
The module carries a full set of key certifications (IEC 61215, IEC 61730, CE-LVD, CE-EMC), enabling lawful installation across all EU markets and satisfying the baseline requirements for subsidy applications (Mój Prąd, KPO).
The module is certified for a snow load of 5,400 Pa and a wind load of 2,400 Pa - values identical to those of the Heckert Solar NeMo 3.0 and appropriate for Polish climatic conditions (snow load zones II-III per PN-EN 1991-1-3).
The Heckert Solar NeMo 3.0 120M offers a 15-year product warranty covering material and workmanship defects, whereas the GKA166M120 provides only 12 years. This 3-year gap may serve as a competitive argument when B2B installers compare proposals side by side.
Gamko New Energy (manufacturing capacity ~1.2 GW in 2023) does not appear on any publicly available BNEF Tier 1 list (Q1 2026). For installations financed through loans or leasing, lender bankability requirements may present an obstacle, potentially limiting the series' applicability in PV farm projects above 50 kWp.
While Gamko itself already offers the GKA144N series based on N-type TOPCon - which delivers lower LID degradation and higher performance at elevated temperatures - the GKA166M120 relies on the older P-type PERC architecture. Over the 30-year warranty horizon, the difference in cumulative energy yield may be significant.
- 20.0% module efficiency - 4.0pp better than the TOPCon 0-400W median of 16.0%
- 200.2 W/m² power density - 40.4 W/m² more than TOPCon 0-400W median (159.8 W/m²), more power per roof area
- -0.36%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.07pp worse than TOPCon 0-400W median (-0.29%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- At 18.0 kg, this panel is 5.5 kg lighter than TOPCon 0-400W median (23.5 kg) - easier handling during installation
- #12266 for efficiency, #12425 for temperature performance out of 14129 panels
