Growatt MIN series are single-phase grid-tied inverters designed for maximum yield in residential and small commercial installations. What sets them apart is their dual MPPT, enabling independent operation of two PV strings - a significant advantage for various roof orientations, multiple tilts, or partial shading, as the system optimizes the maximum power point more effectively and provides more stable energy production.

In practice, MIN boasts high European efficiency, translating to less energy loss under typical operating conditions in Poland and a better annual yield. XH versions feature battery readiness - you can start with solar alone and expand the system later without costly inverter replacement.

Furthermore, equipped with monitoring and communication via WiFi, LAN, or 4G modules and the Growatt app, it allows easy control of production, consumption, and potential alarms. The series holds all required certifications for the European markets and comes with a standard 10-year warranty for models up to 20 kW grid-connected.

Pros and cons

What owners get
The world's number 1 manufacturer of residential inverters

According to a report by S&P Global Commodity Insights, Growatt maintained its leading position in the residential single-phase inverter market in 2024. The scale of production ensures the availability of spare parts, a wide base of certified installers in Poland, and a lower risk of "orphaned product" within the 10-year warranty period.

Peak efficiency of 98.4% - competitive with the best

The datasheet for the MIN 5000TL-X confirms a maximum efficiency of 98.4%, which is comparable to SMA Sunny Boy 5.0 (~98.0%) and Fronius Primo (~98.1%) at a significantly lower purchase price. The European efficiency range for this series is 97.0-97.5%, which, under typical Polish solar conditions (diffuse radiation for a significant portion of the year), translates into a realistic, rather than just nominal, energy yield.

Dual MPPT - independent operation of strings

Two independent MPPT trackers allow for the separate operation of PV arrays with different orientations, tilt angles, or levels of shading. In the practical installation context on the Polish market (typical gable roof, E/W orientation, or partial shading from a chimney), this is a real advantage - single-stage inverters from competitors in such configurations lose 5-12% of annual energy yield.

Battery ready (XH) - DC and AC coupling without the need to replace the inverter

XH variants support both DC (battery connected directly to the DC inverter string) and AC-coupled configurations, with capacities up to 17.9 kWh (ARK HV series). Customers can start with just the PV system, and add the battery later without needing to replace the inverter - saving up to 2,000-3,500 zł compared to purchasing a hybrid inverter system immediately.

A local service network in Poland, established in 2016.

MP Solar Group (Ruda Śląska / Zabrze) is the exclusive distributor and service provider for Growatt in Poland, having provided uninterrupted service since 2016. Warranty claims are handled domestically - without requiring shipment to China, which reduces the downtime of installations and eliminates logistics costs for the end customer.

Trade-offs
Not classified as a Tier 1 bankable entity by BNEF

Growatt does not appear on the BNEF Tier 1 Power Inverter Manufacturers list (Q2 2025 includes, among others, GoodWe, SMA, and Huawei). For installations financed with investment loans or covered by bank guarantees, this may be a disqualifying factor or lead to higher credit margins. In the purely residential segment, this is a minor limitation, but for commercial installations above approximately 15 kWp, it is worth highlighting to the investor.

Growatt application error: data truncation above 10 kWh

Users (reports on elektroda.pl, fotowoltaikaonline.pl, DIY Solar Forum 2024) have reported a persistent bug in the Growatt mobile app: daily production charts truncate values above 10 kWh, resulting in a continuous line appearance even under strong solar irradiance. This issue has not been fixed in the 2024-2025 app versions and makes it difficult to accurately analyze data for installations greater than 6 kWp.

About the MIN series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this model's own.

What warranty applies to Growatt MIN inverters and what does it cover?
Growatt MIN series inverters come with a standard manufacturer's warranty of 10 years, covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is transferable, meaning it passes to the new owner of the installation upon sale of the property. Growatt also offers the option to extend coverage to 15 or 20 years for an additional fee.
What is battery-ready mode in the Growatt MIN XH and is it worth choosing over the standard model?
Models designated XH feature built-in connectors and firmware designed to support the addition of an energy storage system without replacing the inverter. This means you can purchase the PV system today and add a battery at a later date. The compatible storage solution is the Growatt ARK-XH, available in capacities ranging from 5.12 to 17.92 kWh. If you are considering battery storage in the future, the XH variant will allow you to avoid the cost of replacing the inverter unit.
How does dual MPPT work in the Growatt MIN series and does it genuinely improve energy yield?
Two independent MPPTs allow panels from two different roof sections or with different azimuths to be connected as separate strings. Each string operates at its own optimal power point, so shading on one group of panels does not reduce the output of the other. In practice, on Polish rooftops with multiple roof sections or obstructions such as chimneys, the difference in annual energy production can range from several to more than ten percent compared to a single-MPPT inverter.
What is the peak efficiency of the Growatt MIN inverter and is it a competitive figure?
The Growatt MIN series achieves a maximum efficiency of up to 98.4-98.5% and a European efficiency (weighted for typical European irradiance conditions) of up to 97.5%. These figures are competitive within the single-phase inverter segment. European efficiency is more meaningful for annual energy balance than peak efficiency, as it accounts for the actual distribution of solar irradiance in Poland.
What monitoring options does the Growatt MIN series offer and is additional hardware required?
MIN inverters support Wi-Fi, LAN, and 4G communication modules connected via a USB port or a dedicated connector. Once paired with the Growatt ShineServer platform, you have full visibility into production, consumption, and alerts through the Growatt mobile app. The Wi-Fi module is frequently included in the package or available as a low-cost add-on; the 4G module is well suited to locations where home network coverage is insufficient.
Does the Growatt MIN inverter hold the certifications required for grid connection in Poland?
Yes, the MIN series carries the full set of certifications required in European markets, including compliance with the standards mandated by Polish distribution system operators (DSOs), such as EN 50549. This ensures that obtaining grid connection conditions and receiving approval from the DSO follows a standard process. Before purchasing, it is advisable to confirm with your installer that the specific model appears on the current acceptance list of your local DSO.
