The Solarwatt Vision 36M glass series consists of modules using the glass-glass technology, designed for applications where durability and stable performance over many years are essential. Instead of a traditional backsheet, a laminate made of two layers of glass has been used, which improves resistance to weather conditions and long-term material aging. In practice, this means fewer surprises when operating on roofs, in windy conditions, and on structures exposed to loads.

A key feature of this series is high transparency, making it ideal for BIPV applications such as terrace roofs, carport canopies, pergolas, and skylights, where energy generation is combined with space illumination. The modules utilize monocrystalline cells and PERC technology, which helps maintain good efficiency even in less ideal sunlight conditions. Furthermore, the design provides full protection against PID, which reduces the risk of performance degradation over time and differentiates this series from many standard panels.

Common questions

6 answered
Is the Solarwatt Vision 36M glass series still available for purchase?
The Solarwatt Vision 36M glass series has been discontinued and is no longer part of the regular distribution channel. Limited stock may still be found with some distributors, but availability is highly restricted. If you require similar features — glass-glass construction, BIPV capability, and a long warranty — it is worth asking about current Solarwatt offerings or comparable modules from other manufacturers.
Why does the Solarwatt Vision 36M glass use glass-glass construction instead of a standard backsheet?
Conventional polymer backsheets yellow, crack, and allow moisture ingress over time, accelerating cell degradation. The Vision 36M glass uses two 4 mm tempered glass panes, which are resistant to humidity, ammonia, and UV radiation, dissipate heat more evenly, and do not develop microcracks. This slower aging profile is what allows Solarwatt to back the module with a full 30-year product and power warranty.
Is the Solarwatt Vision 36M glass suitable for carport canopies or pergolas?
Yes, the Vision 36M glass was specifically designed for BIPV applications such as carport canopies, pergolas, terrace roofing, and skylights. Its high transparency lets diffuse daylight pass through the module, illuminating the space below while generating power. The 1,550×710 mm form factor and a rated suction load of 2,400 Pa (test load 3,600 Pa) make it compatible with many non-standard mounting systems.
What warranty does the Solarwatt Vision 36M glass come with?
Solarwatt backs the Vision 36M glass with a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty guaranteeing at least 87% of nominal power at the end of the warranty period. This is among the longest warranties in the PV industry and is directly tied to the durability of the glass-glass laminate, which resists long-term degradation far better than standard backsheet modules.
What does PERC technology mean for the Vision 36M glass performance under cloudy skies?
PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) adds a passivating layer on the rear of each cell that reflects unabsorbed photons back through the silicon, giving them a second chance to generate current. This improves energy yield under diffuse and low-irradiance conditions typical of northern European climates. In the Vision 36M glass, PERC contributes to a module efficiency of 16.6–17.3% at a peak power of up to 190 Wp.
What are the dimensions and weight of the Solarwatt Vision 36M glass, and is it easy to install?
The Solarwatt Vision 36M glass measures 1,550×710×9 mm and weighs approximately 25 kg. The compact footprint for a 190 Wp module makes positioning straightforward on rooftops or pergola frames. Keep in mind that the glass-glass construction adds some weight compared to equivalent backsheet panels, so the mounting structure should be verified to meet the required load ratings before installation.
