Middle of its segment, weak in heat
JS Solar 72 SERIES POLYCRYSTALLINE PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES are an advanced solution designed to maximize efficiency in large-scale commercial installations and solar farms. The use of polycrystalline cell technology with high-purity silicon allows for stable system operation even in variable sunlight conditions, which is crucial for the Polish climate. The design based on 72 cells translates into higher system voltage, which directly reduces cabling and mounting hardware costs for large-scale projects. This series stands out with its increased resistance to potential-induced degradation (PID), which guarantees long-term maintenance of technical parameters and investment security. A solid anodized aluminum frame and tempered glass with high light transmittance ensure exceptional mechanical strength against snow and wind loads. This product is dedicated to investors seeking an optimal price-to-quality ratio, where reliability in difficult industrial conditions plays a key role. Unlike standard modules, the JS Solar 72 series offers excellent heat dissipation and an optimized surface structure, which minimizes energy losses resulting from dirt. It is a proven choice for the agro sector and large enterprises that rely on the proven durability of polycrystalline technology in a modern version.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial.
Hot climates, weight-limited structures and tight roof space.
Bottom 3% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of -0.350. Ranked 13,796th in the whole database.
Bottom 9% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of 55.7. Ranked 13,465th in the whole database.
Bottom 10% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of 20.30%.
The 72-cell configuration produces a higher MPP voltage (~36–38 V vs ~30 V in 60-cell modules), which in utility-scale and farm installations directly shortens DC cable runs and reduces the number of connectors required, lowering Balance of System costs by an estimated 8–12% compared to topologies built around 60-cell modules.
The series carries certified resistance to Potential Induced Degradation (PID), critical in utility-scale systems operating at 1,000–1,500 V DC. This limits the risk of permanent power loss caused by current leakage through the frame — a failure mode that can exceed 30% degradation over 5 years in non-PID-resistant modules.
The manufacturer provides a 25-year linear power output warranty, consistent with the commercial-segment market standard. Combined with a 10-year product warranty, this package covers the full financing cycle typical of industrial-scale PV projects.
The anodized aluminum frame and high-transmittance tempered glass provide snow and wind load resistance in line with IEC 61215 certification requirements, making the series suitable for open-field applications (agri-PV, ground-mounted farms) in Central European climate conditions.
The JS Solar 72 Series Polycrystalline is a discontinued product line. This means limited module availability for replenishment in case of failure, no active manufacturer technical support for this series, and difficulty maintaining parameter uniformity in installations expanded in the future.
The series' peak efficiency (17%) matches only the lowest-tier peer: Jinko Solar 72 Series Poly reaches the same 17%, while Waaree ARKA achieves 19.81% (+2.8 pp) and JA Solar Monocrystalline80 hits 23.15% (+6.2 pp). In practice, this requires ~20–35% more module area to reach the same installed capacity as monocrystalline PERC/TOPCon solutions.
Yixing JS Solar Co., Ltd. does not appear on the BNEF bankable manufacturers list (Q1 2026). The absence of Tier-1 status significantly complicates or prevents bank financing and project finance for utility-scale PV farms, where lenders and insurers require modules from manufacturers with a confirmed bankability rating — a standard requirement for projects above 1 MWp.
Polycrystalline modules account for less than 5% of new PV installations in 2025 (industry data), and leading manufacturers (JA Solar, Jinko, LONGi) are phasing out the technology in favor of mono PERC and TOPCon. The absence of a bifacial variant in the JS Solar 72P series further excludes it from a commercial segment where bifacial mono has become the standard, delivering 5–25% higher energy yield from the module's rear side.
