## Summary

Gintech is a Taiwanese solar manufacturer founded in 2005, originally focused on crystalline silicon cell production. The brand's independent existence effectively ended in October 2018, when Gintech merged with Neo Solar Power and Solartech Energy to form United Renewable Energy Co. (URECO), now the largest integrated module and system provider in Taiwan. As a standalone label, Gintech does not appear on current Bloomberg NEF Tier 1 lists and carries a limited institutional footprint internationally. Q CELLS traces its roots to a German company founded in Thalheim, Germany, and was acquired by South Korea's Hanwha Group in 2012, becoming Hanwha Q CELLS. It holds confirmed Bloomberg NEF Tier 1 bankability status and ranked third among all solar panel manufacturers in SolarReviews' 2025 rankings. Hanwha Q CELLS operates a total global module production capacity that exceeds 11 GW annually, including a 3.3 GW facility in Cartersville, Georgia - the largest solar manufacturing complex in the Western Hemisphere. On institutional footprint, Q CELLS is the considerably stronger of the two.

The Gintech product range, to the extent panels still ship under that label, has historically covered standard monocrystalline PERC modules aimed at budget-oriented commercial and small residential rooftop applications, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. URECO, its successor entity, now markets PERC and N-type bifacial modules under the URE brand in markets like the United States and Australia. Q CELLS, by contrast, offers a broad lineup spanning residential rooftop systems, commercial installations, and utility-scale ground mounts. Its Q.ANTUM NEO series is built on TOPCon cell technology and achieves efficiencies of up to 22.5%, while its temperature coefficient - as low as -0.29%/degree C - is among the best in class for performance in hot climates.

For a typical buyer in 2025, Q CELLS is the clear default. It delivers confirmed Tier 1 bankability, a 25-year product warranty, strong independent review scores, widely available installer support in North America and Europe, and competitive pricing roughly 15-20% below premium brands such as Maxeon. Gintech as a standalone brand is essentially a legacy name at this point; buyers in markets where URE modules are available can consider that successor brand for budget-conscious projects, but it does not match Q CELLS on warranty backing, technology generation, or global institutional credibility.
