## Summary

ASM does not appear in any major solar industry database, BloombergNEF Tier 1 list, or trade-press coverage as a recognized panel manufacturer. Web searches consistently return either ASM Solar - an Australian residential installation and service company - or ASM, a Dutch semiconductor equipment firm unrelated to photovoltaics. Without verifiable manufacturer-level data on ASM, only a qualitative note is possible on that side: if ASM is intended as a regional installer or small-scale brand, it is not yet operating at a scale that attracts independent analyst coverage, and no bankability or production-capacity figures can be cited in good conscience.

Panasonic, by contrast, has a well-documented solar history. Founded in Japan in 1918 as Matsushita Electric, it pioneered heterojunction technology - branded HIT, for heterojunction with intrinsic thin-layer - with the world's first commercially available HJT panels in 1997. Over the following decades those modules earned a premium reputation for high efficiency, excellent temperature coefficients, and long-term power retention. Its EverVolt residential line, however, was not self-manufactured: after Panasonic ceased in-house module production in 2021, EverVolt panels were made under contract by REC Group. On April 28, 2025, Panasonic North America announced a full exit from solar and battery storage, ending the EverVolt line entirely. Existing 25-year AllGuard warranties remain honored by the parent company.

For a buyer in 2025, Panasonic solar is effectively a legacy product - no new panels are being produced or sold, though existing installed systems with active warranties remain supported. Without a credible manufacturer profile for ASM, a head-to-head verdict is not possible. Buyers seeking high-efficiency HJT modules in the Panasonic tradition should look instead at REC Group (which made EverVolt panels) or other active HJT specialists.
